Your captain

You're in the hands of an Olympic sailor and ocean captain.

Your captain, Tomás, raced at Olympic level in the 470 class and spent years commanding ocean-going yachts on the open sea. He holds a Master 200GT licence with full STCW and GMDSS certification — far more than a calm river cruise asks for — and he knows the Douro itself inside out, from years working this stretch of the river. He guides in Portuguese, English, Spanish and Italian. On the water, the person at the helm is everything: you're in genuinely expert, genuinely local hands.

We sail in sheltered water, but if conditions aren't safe we'll reschedule or refund you. Safety comes first, always.

Is it suitable for families with children?+

Yes — children are welcome, with a reduced fare and lifejackets on board for everyone.
